Snowbombing goes live

Snowbombing's winter festival returns - with a new live band element

Snowbombing is back for another week of snowboarding and dancing fun in the snow this April. And this year the Monday 9th April – Sunday 15th April event actually happens over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend - so that’s an extra day of fun in the snow for you, without even mentioning all the other new attractions this year.

SnowbombingWell, to be honest there’s only really one significant change this year, but it’s a biggie. For Snowbombing 2007, the DJ-heavy line-ups of yesteryear are augmented by the addition of live bands for the first time. Gareth Cooper from Snowbombing says, ‘We’re very pleased to add the live element to Snowbombing, which we feel reinforces our position as one of the biggest winter festivals in Europe. Watching bands playing at 2000 metres with the snow capped Austrian Alps in the background is certainly different.’

These bands include the likes of Vincent Vincent & the Villains and The Sunshine Underground, Louie Austen and the mighty Cuban Brothers. Ok, so the last two aren’t ‘bands’ as such, but they’re definitely not your average deck wizards…

…and that, of course, is because Snowbombing doesn’t bother with ‘average’ DJs. Instead, they’ve got the masterful M.A.N.D.Y, the dubwise Tayo, the superb Sinden and the, er, shiny Glimmers on hand, as well as a host of other spinners guaranteed to make the event one long high-altitude binge, with a backdrop of the scenic Mayrhofen resort.
