Starbucks
Megabucks coffee conglomerate comes to York. Starbucks, who are to character–filled coffee houses what McDonalds are to home cooking, opened three shops in York in under six months. Now although this may help U.S. tourists feel at home, it does little for the diversity of cafe bars within the town. Reasonable selection of roast coffees served side by side with ridiculously overpriced sandwiches. With each Starbucks bar displaying all the personality you'd expect from one of America's biggest corporations, it makes you wonder if all this new York stuff is a good idea.
