Jaipur Spice
Resembling an American Evangelical Church from the outside. Once inside, you'll be greeted by the manager and guided over an abstract bridge, built on a fountain with coloured lights, and meet waiters that look like posh bellboys. It might sound more like a trip to Goa than an evening meal, but a little eccentricity just adds to the experience, especially when the food is good. If you haven't been, there's a pretty good chance that after your first visit you'll never want to eat curry anywhere else in York again –I mean that, and I'm not just trying to curry favour with the owners. It's not really a post–boozer curry house, and the fact that it is so far out of town means that it's a lot quieter as most people have made the trip especially for the food.
