Pizza Express
The York branch of 'Pizza Hut for the slightly more sophisticated masses' does the whole thing very well, as usual. Great old building with high ceilings, interesting stonework and an alfresco balcony overlooking the Ouse, which if the dough balls weren't so expensive would be a great venue for feeding the mallards. A bit too obvious for a first date, you can always impress her with your knowledge of Italian sparkling beverages and go for the Prosecco –those bubbles play havoc with a girl's libido.
