The Minstermen were teetering on the brink of extinction during last season, rescued last year by Super Batcho, the motor racing impresario. He who took over the club and has promised big things, though most fans would happily settle for a decent cup run and a shot at promotion. Piss poor local support as quite a few Yorkies have deserted to support the mighty Leeds United down the road. But the die–hard fans certainly can muster some passion, and the fair weather supporters always make the effort when one of the Premiership big boys pays a visit in the FA Cup.
