Yorkshire Museum
Dori–style building set amidst 10 acres of botanical gardens in the shadow of St Mary's Abbey. Home to Roman, Viking and Anglo–Saxon artefacts, including the Middleham Jewel –a 15th century English Gothic Pendant which cost the museum £2.5 million to acquire. Despite claiming to house 1000 years of Yorkshire heritage there are still, as yet, no plans to host a selection of cloth caps or whippets.
