Fibbers
Tribute bands and indie wannabes grace this venue from the couple behind the late Duchess in Leeds, the Blues Bar in Harrogate, and York's very own Golden Fleece. Open since 1992, Fibbers plays host to both local and national acts. So for every Duck Sick and Bryan Adams Experience on the bill there's an Electric Soft Parade, Four Day Hombre or Wayne Hussey – ex The Mission – to even out the odds. There's someone playing every night of the week and the venue's keen to support local talent –hence the regular 'Battle of the Bands' competitions and their support for local 'legends' Shed Seven. Lady Sovereign isn't too keen though. She allegedly turned up to the venue to play a gig, took one look at the room and got back in the van.
