The Lowther
Once the legendary middle ground between swigging Lambrini outside Spar and being able to get legally served in an actual drinking establishment. But since its refit and the acquisition of a first floor, The Lowther has shed many of the underage drinkers in favour of more well–behaved tourists – less sick to clean up, you see –. They still manage to attract a few grungers with their David Dickenson style 'cheap as chips' drinks and student jukebox. But during the day undiscerning tourists are the only ones shelling out pennies for the astonishingly bad food. Once great, now grotty.
