The Phalanx and Firkin
If you've ever been to a Firkin pub before you'll know all about the bargain drink and firkin décor. Beyond that, it's... erm... sort of medium–sized and it sells Old Speckled Hen. As for the food, stingy isn't the word – well, actually it is – –I ordered a lasagne and that deaf firker behind the bar must've thought that I'd asked for a boiled sweet. You do have to feel sorry for the staff though; it's near the top of Micklegate, so it's full of pissed up monkeys looking for a rumble.
