Yates's York
Yates's York isn't renowned for being the classiest of establishments, but it certainly tries hard to be one. As long as you avoid wearing jogging bottoms (the one golden rule of their dress code), you can experience all Yates's has to offer. By day it maintains a friendly pub atmosphere, with its spacious pub layout, a wide range of pub grub available at tasty prices and a wide selection of drinks. The venue screens many live sporting events throughout the week including international football and boxing, befitting the regulars who happen to be Yorkshire geezers and their WAGS. At weekends the pub goes all out, with part of the seating area turning into a dancefloor and their resident DJ unleashing club favourites from past and present. On Sunday evenings as the clock strikes seven, for an entrance fee of £2, a number of drinks are made available for a solitary pound, allowing you to stay ”quids in.“ Students and the tight-fisted may want to arrive slightly earlier to avoid the entrance fee- the price of 2 pints can be a lot to sacrifice.
