Riverside Cafe Bar
The Riverside cafe is a cafe-bar with two faces. By day it is a place for ladies-what-lunch, or ladies what-cappuccino, or whatever they do; it has cosy seats, light lunches and is suitably removed from York's humdrum for them to settle in. In the evening the music venue The Basement and City Screen cinema (which share the same building) draw in the pointy shoed, black-rimmed-spectacled bunch who shout to each other over bottled beer and enjoy the balcony overlooking the river. Go for a safe bet drinking experience with contemporary lines. Don't go for a good ol' knees up with tassels.
