York's first tentative foray into the world of Japanese cuisine. A stylish affair, Buzz serves up an inexpensive range of noodle dishes, teriyaki and the slightly more pricey bento meals – served in fancy compartmentalised lacquered boxes –. Those fearful of the wasabi can hang out at the bar, which offers a wide range of eastern sounding cocktails as well as hot or cold sake, takora plum wine, and Japanese beers, Asahi and Sapporo. Although the bar's rather small, it makes the most of its space with swanky communal leather cube seats. And for sushi lovers there's one of those Generation Game–style conveyor belts by the sparkling clean, and reassuringly open, kitchen.

It was awful awful awful. Having complained that this was the worst sushi we've had anywhere in the world, the service team where impolite and unhelpful.Small portions, unhelpful and unfriendly, the worst sushi out of trips to Uk, Oz, Canada, USA, Germany and South Africa. Truely shameful.

Great food (have not tried the sushi), taken lots of visitors there for meals, all of the visitors were very impressed with the food - on one occassion we had to wait a while for the food, but friends commented that the food was well worth waiting for!

It's not awful at al!! I go here lots... too many times in fact, and the food is always fantastic and very fresh. The service isn't top notch ocasionally with the younger waiting staff, but the restaurant manager always holds things together. Go for the chicken katsu and the ebi tom yam (the most wonderfully hot and sour soup with noodles, fresh vegetables and juicy prawns).

We absolutely loved it! Wandering around York after a long morning doing the "tourist" thing we realized we'd missed the lunch menu in most restaurants. We stumbled into Buzz just as the were getting ready to close down before re-opening for dinner. The waitress was sweet and didn't rush us at all. The food was fabulous! The best noodles ever. (and here you thought a noodle was a noodle!) The bento box (chicken again) was also yummy. The sticky rice was absolutely perfect. We're actually thinking about going back to York just to go back to Buzz!

we like it and go all the time! It's not the poshest restaurant in the world but the food is very very good and the presentation is great. I recommend the miso soup, the sashimi beef and sashimi bento! (yes that's right I love the two starters so much that I have to have two :S) the noodles are also great but we are sushi people
