City centre hotel with superb views of The Minster. It's an ideal base for strolling the medieval streets of York and hence is extremely popular for shopping breaks. It also contains the impressive DCH restaurant and is very convenient for the many nearby bars and pubs.

Given the price level of this restaurant it was far from what I would expect. The restaurant manager was condescending and pompous to a level that annoyed. The food was nothing special and was rushed. To top it all, despite the restaurant being 3/4 empty we were moved from the table we were originally on to a different table because they realised that someone had previously put a specific request in to sit where we were. Overall, not what I would expect at the level they purport to be at (&charge for).
