Stone Roses Bar, York

Thwaites pub masquerading as some sort of 18th century cruise liner. You'll know what I mean when you get inside –dark Victorian décor, ceiling fans, and an ornate central staircase leading up to balcony seating/stage space. They even seem to have spurned those new fangled detergents too –presumably there's nowt wrong with the odd bit of muck. Which brings me onto the student clientele, obviously enamoured with the cheap drinks and the fact it's spitting distance from The Gallery. Should you prefer to swallow you'll find plenty of pissed up regulars in a similar vein of mind. Wallflowers can sway to the live local music or empty their pockets on the table football and arcade games.

User Reviews for Stone Roses Bar

i've had more fun in a morgue

The Stone Roses bar is great! me and my friends go there regularly often and have never had a bad night. Granted that it caters for a certain customer in the sense that it plays indie music and plays it loud! im certainly not an emo (nothing against them) but they would fit in well there, but so do the odler types who just appreciate good music and not too expensive drinks, it is relatively close to the nightclub 'the gallery' but i wouldn't go to the gallery for anything and i doubt that most of the people who frequent the stone roses bar who have actual music taste would either.
