Continually popular since it opened two years ago, the trendy art deco interior is complimented by an eclectic mix of contemporary British and continental cuisine, coupled with a comprehensive wine list. The name 'Rish', coming from the Arabic word for 'feathers', is shared by the proprietors Sam and Maria Abu Rish, who offer a chatty and welcoming touch, with an extreme enthusiasm for the restaurant. It is on the pricier side compared to some of York's eateries, but the good food and friendly staff ensure that the clientele consists of everyone from extravagant students to north east millionaires.
