Named after York's former red light district and glamorising prostitution in a way that Band of Gold never could. They've even got some rather sultry looking ladies staring down from the walls. Not sure why –maybe York's whores were a cut above the rest of the country's – reciting historical facts about the Minster etc – or the owners are just a smutty bunch. Anyway, this is an excellent eatery that was opened by the former maitre d' and head chef of the Blue Bicycle. A predominantly fish menu with prices that can be a bit on the expensive side. But as any 'lady of the night' will tell you –you get what you pay for.
